Connecting to the Bayside Network over VPN

Bayside Christian College provides remote VPN (Virtual Private Network) access to the College internal systems for staff. This document has been created to provide instructions on installing and configuring the VPN as well as connecting to the College network and accessing internal systems.

VPN access is available on PC's, Macs, and iPads and provides a secure, encrypted way to connect to the College remotely to access documents on the File Server,  or internal databases and sites.

The Bayside VPN is installed by the user through the Managed Software Center app on the Mac. This installation process is fully automated.

Installation and use of the VPN on the iPad is covered in a separate tutorials.  PC users will need to bring their laptop to the ICT Department for installation and configuration of the VPN.

Open the  Managed Software Center App

Step 1 - Launch the "Managed Software Center" app by clicking the Launchpad on the desktop or by going to Applications > Managed Software Center app

Click on the Install button below BCC VPN item

Step 2 - Click on the install button below the BCC VPN Item

Open the FortiClient App

Click on the Install button below BCC VPN item

Step 3 - Open the FortiClient app

Click on  the Remote Access  tab

Click on the Install button below BCC VPN item

Step 4 - Click on the Remote Access Tab

Click on the Install button below BCC VPN item

Step 5 - Click Configure VPN

Configure VPN like below and click save

Step 6 - Configure VPN with the details and then click Save.

Connection name : BCC VPN

Remote Gateway: vpn.bcc.vic.edu.au

 

Enter you network account details to use the VPN.

Click on the Install button below BCC VPN item

Step 7 Enter your network account details  and click connect.
